How does the registration work?

It's that simple:

Toll product selection

You choose the toll product you need for your trip to/through Hungary.

License plate and payment

Enter your license plate number and make sure it is correct! Then select a payment method of your choice.

After a few seconds / minutes you will receive an email confirmation with the required information. Now your license plates are successfully registered at the toll station and you can drive off without attaching a sticker and without a waiting period!

For driving on Hungarian motorways and expressways marked with an "M", electronic vignettes are required for all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes GVW, which are automatically checked via the license plate. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes GVW are subject to distance-based tolls (HU-GO system) and cannot use a vignette.

Motorcycles

  • Motorcycles require, depending on the duration, a vignette of class D1M (weekly and monthly vignette) or D1 (annual vignette).

Cars

  • Cars with up to 7 seats fall under vehicle class D1.
  • Cars with more than 7 seats fall under vehicle class D2 and are subject to higher tolls.

Trailers

  • For trailers with a towing vehicle of vehicle class D1, trailers are not additionally tolled.
  • For trailers with a towing vehicle of vehicle class D2, trailers are additionally tolled. Trailers up to 3.5 tonnes GVW are then classified in class U.

Motorhomes

  • Motorhomes up to 3.5 tonnes GVW can be classified in both vehicle class D1 and vehicle class D2.
  • Motorhomes are assigned to vehicle class D1 if they are approved for carrying up to 7 persons and as a passenger vehicle (M1).
  • Motorhomes are assigned to vehicle class D2 if they are approved for carrying more than 7 persons or as a commercial vehicle (N1).

No. You no longer need a physical product after successful registration. The digital vignette is linked to your license plate number and the system automatically recognizes whether and for which period your digital vignette is valid.

After you have paid for your order, we will immediately start registering your license plates on your behalf. This usually takes less than 2 minutes! After successful registration with the official toll provider in Hungary, you will receive a registration confirmation with the required information by email. Your toll product is now valid and you can start driving!

Yes, the registration confirmation should be carried as proof that the vehicle data has been recorded in the database and as proof for the validity period. In addition, the receipt must be kept for two years for evidentiary purposes in the event of any subsequent complaints.
